Description: 

On verso of image: Peo-peo-ta-lik, Nez perce warrior of 1877 Man poses in front of sheet, standing on a blanket, ca. 1890-1905. He is wearing a choker-style necklace, white tunic shirt, decorated leggings, and a feathered and be-furred pelt around his waist. He holds a carved pipe, and beside his are displayed a carved stick and a beaded bag. A wide-brimmed hat lays on blanket, the beaded band on hat appears to say "...Peo T[ha]l'ke".
